Greedy Of Everything – The Pardoner’s Tale

       Geoffrey Chaucer, one of the great men who once shaped the world by literary masterpieces, now lies at Westminster abbey. One of the masterpieces that he wrote was “The Canterbury Tales”.  A bunch of pilgrims on a journey told their tales to each other inside the Tabard inn at Southwark.  One of the Pilgrims told his tale, The Pardoner’s Tale…..

                The Pardoner’s Tale is my favorite among the other tales in the Canterbury Tales. It is about three thieves who found bag of gold bars beneath the tree, and because of greediness they cheated on each other, two of the thieves were killed by taking poisoned food. And the other one was stabbed at the back.

The Greedy Thieves

That is one of the results of greediness. As the Bible said  Prov. 11:6 - " The treacherous are caught by their own greed ". Greed can hurt us, and even others. We people should not be greedy, if we are greedy, God will teach us the rightful lesson, like the three thieves, they were killed by their own greedy possession,Luke. 12:15 - " be on guard against every form of greed; life is not in possessions".

What I learned in the tale is, we should not be greedy , because it will bring no good to us.  

  

Hero, hmm.....

Yahh! Boom! Bang! Whaaaaa!  Kill here! Kill there!

     Some of the people think that to become a hero , you should first risk your life like a soldier, make history ,  Kill something or somebody…. But no! You don't need the Yahh! Boom! Bang! Whaaaaa!  Kill here! Kill there! thing.
For me what really matter is you sacrificing something for others or for something.

 

     For me as I say a hero is the one who sacrifices, especially time. Like OFW’S I really admire them, they sacrifice their time that should be spent with their family to earn money, to contribute to the economy and for them and their family to survive the wrath of the world. Also teachers , we know even if they don’t teach us and let us goof around, they will still get their salaries, but no, they really cared about us, they taught us for our own good. And teachers not only work in school but even at home.  Also my parents I now realize their hardwork for us. My dad works as a violin teacher, teaching at a certain school and also home to home, even if it’s very very very very hot, he still does his work for us. And my mom she always wake up very early to prepare the things I need for school, then she also go to work, then upon coming home, she again will do some of the chores. Even on weekends, she spend more time working in the house than relaxing.How tiring! Our parents really loves us, they do all things for us. Now I will repay them by bringing them the bacon, a.k.a. a good grade in cars. Now readers, your parents really love you, so repay them by doing your best in school, even us students can be a hero, by making our parents happy. :D

So this will be the end, Those are the few of many persons whom I admired for being a hero. As a result we learned that not only killing bad guys and wearing underwears over clothes , but sacrificing …. For the best.
